Ground School
Ground school courses are held most weekends, and weekdays by arrangement. These optional courses cost from £50. WLAC employ a dedicated ground school instructor and most people obtain first time passes.
Examination fees are £30 per written paper, a discount of £5 is given for those attending WLAC ground school. All courses must be prebooked with WLAC Operations and be paid for at the time of booking.
Ground school classes are very popular and there are limited places available in each session. Please book early to avoid disappointment - ring ops to check availability.
Please note that no shows/late cancellations on the student's part will incur a £25 cancellation fee.

- Air Law (please bring a chart) Start 09:30 - 17:00 (full day) - £120 plus exam £25
- Navigation (CRP1/Protractor/Ruler) Start 09:30 - 15:00 (2 sessions) - £160 plus exam £25
- Meteorology Start 09:30 - 14:00 (2 sessions) - £150 plus exam £25
- Technical - Aircraft General Start 09:30 - 14:00 (2 sessions) - £150.00 plus exam £25
- Human Factors Start 17:00 - 21.00 (one evening session) - £80 plus exam £25
- Flight Planning Start 17:00 - 20.00 (2 sessions) - £100 plus exam £25
- Radio Communications - by arrangement - £50 plus exam £25
- Radio Practical two hrs - £50. Radio Licence Practical Exam - £75
IMC Course
- Can be arranged on five to six evenings, or days to suit - £250 plus exam £20
