Twin engine training at White Waltham
West London Aero Club are delighted to be able to enhance our portfolio of advance training courses with the addition of the multi-engine piston rating. The course consists of 7 hours ground tuition and a minimum of 6 hours flight training. There is one written examination consisting of 40 multi choice questions and a flight test with a CAA examiner.
Multi engine aircraft fly faster, higher, further and carry a greater load. For the business traveller they provide a viable alternative to the hell that is Heathrow. The regions of the UK and Europe all become just a few hours flight time from White Waltham. With full customs and immigration facilities at the club, Europe is just a short step away. Light twin aircraft are far more stable than their single engined counterparts, they are better instrument platforms and have far less cabin vibration thus making the longer journeys much more enjoyable. They carry a degree of redundancy not available in a single but do require a professional approach.
The bottom line is that they are just plain fun to fly!!
This course is personally conducted by WLAC's Head of Training, Ian Marshall. Ian is the Club twin engine 'Maestro' and has over 13000 hours on multi-engined aircraft flying out of the UK's major airports. The flight examiner for the rating is Carol Cooper CFI of Andrewsfield Flying Club. Carol also has a great deal of experience with over 18000 hours instructing experience. She is one of the UK's leading flight training practitioners, both Ian and Carol have had the honour of being the Aircraft Owners and Pilots Association 'Instructor of the year'.
Over the course of this year it is intended that West London Aero Club will become the natural choice for the owners and pilots of multi engine aircraft. Professional friendly training, purchase advice and syndication, parking and hangarage, flight clearances and customs, maintenance and fuel are all available within the unique atmosphere of the West London Aero Club at White Waltham Airfield.
