As summer draws to a close, the West London Aero Club welcomes members and their guests to our much-loved Members Day — a spectacular day of flying, fun and community, all in support of three exceptional causes: the Royal Air Force Benevolent Fund, Thames Valley Air Ambulance, and Navy Wings.
With the timeless charm of a traditional English fête, our Members Day blends vintage flair with the thrill of an airshow featuring some of the finest aircraft and flying talent to be found anywhere in the UK, much of it drawn from our own membership.
This year, we are delighted to announce that the flying display will be opened by not one, but two magnificent Spitfires — a stirring and unmistakable tribute to the aviation heritage that runs deep here at White Waltham.
Earlier in the day from 0900 hours we will have Flour Bombing flights available in the Super Cub (£75) and Tiger Moth (£99). This includes 3 low pass attempts at hitting the target. 20 minute Helicopter Rides around the local area for £80 per person. Needs 3 people per flight. British Airways A350 Simulator-land a wide-bodied jet at Heathrow. Contact Ops to buy slots on all of the above. 01628823272
Other attractions include swing boats, bouncy castle, vintage cars, train rides, double decker bus rides, model railway layouts, face painting, ice creams…… the list goes on. All in aid of our 3 chosen charities: Navy Wings; Thames Valley Air Ambulance and RAF Benevolent Fund.
After the Spitfires, it just gets better and better when James Brown and Mike Collett once again take to the skies in their Hurricanes, recreating a tense dogfight scenario with Alex Truman in the ME108 lookalike, complete with pyrotechnics!

A graceful solo Tiger Moth routine by Robin Russell will pave the way for the elegant spectacle of the Tiger Nine formation team while the much-loved Turbulent Team will bring their unique, joyful energy to the air, showing that you don’t need a big aircraft to put on a big show!

This year will also see a welcome return from the mighty Yak 3, flown by Bob Davey starting his display in formation with a Yak 52 and the Nanchang CJ6.

The full days flying programme will be available on the website once the timings have been finalised.
On the ground, you’ll find over 150 classic cars, a host of activities and entertainment for all ages, great food and drink, and a relaxed, welcoming atmosphere that continues into the evening with live music and merriment long after the last aircraft has landed.
To build on the wonderful charitable support our Members Day has raised in previous years, this time we’re encouraging all ticket-holders to consider making a small additional donation — every extra pound helps make a greater impact for our chosen causes in these challenging times.
Join us for a day to remember — whether your passion is vintage aircraft, thrilling aerobatics, or simply enjoying a great day out with family and friends.
